Record/Edit Audio 

In the Work view, click the appropriate step with a tool that let you record or edit audio files. Some tool enable different controls and features so you might not see all the possibilities discussed in this Help topic.

Prerequisites

Record a new audio file

  1. If you see Record Retelling or Question and Answer controls, select (PIC) one of them.

Your selection will become part of the audio file name to distinguish the files by their type.

  1. If you see a Speaker field, type the name of the person who will be speaking. Provide rights if necessary.

  1. Here are other controls you might see and choose to use:

  2. Click PIC (Record) or press the keyboard shortcut (F9 or Ctrl + 9) and have the speaker talk into your microphone.

  3. Click PIC (Pause) or press the keyboard shortcut (F9 or Ctrl + 9) when the speaking finished or want to pause recording for a moment.

  4. Click PIC (Play) or press the keyboard shortcut (F1 or Ctrl + Space) to listen to your recording for quality and usability.

  5. Optionally, if the step (and tool) allows you, you can do any of the following:

  6. Click the Book control and then click a book. Then, examine the Name control and edit the name if necessary.

  7. Click Save.

Load existing file for use or editing

 Important: The Latest Version control () in the Versions dialog box controls what is the latest version.

Notice that in Name line, the version number of the audio file increases.

Note

In this case, the recorded Provide Rights voice sample must be already available. You can choose a name, but not record a new sample at this time.
