Offline team () means you will work this way:
The team will work in team audio projects ().
The team Admin (role) will set up the audio project while online (with Internet access).
The team will work in the audio project using the Desktop app while offline (without Internet access).
The team will export ITF files and give them to the team Admin who will update the master copy of the audio project.
The Admin will integrate transcriptions with Paratext locally, or online if they have Internet access.
If this is not the way you want to work, see Start from the beginning overview.
Desktop must be installed.
You need to have one or more audio files or a microphone so you can record them.
The Admin must have access to the Internet to add teams and set up the audio project.
Currently, teams require each person to have a confirmed online identity. For example, the Admin will invite people to the team by email and each person must accept the invitation via email.
Start the Desktop app.
On the Getting Started page, click Work Online that is below Set up team audio project.
Click Log In to log in.
Add a team.
Use the Team Settings dialog box.
After all the invitations have been accepted, do any of the following:
Add one or more peer groups.
Choose team-level permissions for an audio project.
Add a Permission Scheme and assign sections to individual members or peer groups.
Create a new audio project.
After all the assignments and permissions are complete, export the audio project as a PTF file. Save it on a removable device, such a USB flash drive.
Attach the removable device to their own computer.
Start Desktop.
On the Getting Started page, click Import Audio Project for the Work in a team audio project.
Click the file that needs to be imported and then click Open.
Click Yes in the Confirmation dialog box.
Click Close to close the Import Audio Project dialog box.
To start working in the audio project, do one of these steps:
Now, team members can transcribe passages and do other work without access to the Internet.
The Admin may be the only person who needs a fully up-to-date set of audio projects. In this case, only that person would need to import the ITF files.
However, to update one or more computers with changes made by other team members while offline (), each one can export an ITF file to the USB flash drive and each member can import that file. Be aware that the more members you have on the team, the more iterations it will take to get everyone fully up to date.
