Here are Help topics about importing:
Import audio project - online has steps that you would do when you use Audio Project Manager in a browser or in Desktop online.
You can import incremental change data files (*.itf) that you received from offline users. These files update the online audio project.
Import audio project - offline has steps that you would do when you use Desktop while offline ().
In this case, you can import a full audio project file (*.ptf). Here is a way you can use this feature:
If multiple people work in the same audio project, they could each and export to an ITF file and give them to the Admin (role). Then the Admin can import them all to update a master copy of the audio project. From that master copy, the Admin could export and share copies of the new PTF file. When each team member has imported that file, it will overwrite their audio project so each will have everyone else's changes. This can all be done while offline.
No Import commands are available when you use Desktop online. The online audio project contains all changes made by other online team members.
If your internet connection failed while working online, changes are stored locally. The next time have access to the internet, your changes automatically update the online audio project. You may also need to work online only occasionally.
If the file was created from an online audio project, the identification of the Admin and any team members are added. You will see them in the Connection Mode page.
Offline Users (Connection Mode page): Offline users are not part of a team and only work with personal audio projects ().
You can only import and work in audio projects you made previously while offline (). For example, you can import a PTF backup file of an audio project you had deleted to restore that audio project.
If you import a PTF file that another offline user created, the offline ID of the creator remains with the audio project. So, to see and work in that imported audio project, you need to log out and log in as that offline user.
Online: Personal audio projects () are only available to the person who added it. Other users cannot see them, even if they tried to import them.
In Desktop, you can import an Audacity project as an *.mp3 audio file.
