Add, Move or Copy a section or passage

Recommended: Review Filter project, PassageSection and Sections & Passages tab overview.

Note: If you change existing sections or passages after you have added resources in steps that use the Internalize tool, you might need to configure general resources or link shared resources again. Otherwise, they might not play correctly.

Choose an audio project, and then click the Sections & Passages tab, if it is not already displayed. Then, do any of the steps below.

Add Section button

  1. If there are existing sections, click the section that is nearest to where you want to add the new section.

  2. Click Add Section  and then click the option that describes where you want the new section to appear. 

A new row is added to the table for the new section. If the project layout is hierarchical, a passage is also added.

  1. Click the cell in the Title column and type or paste the title for that section.

  2. Press Tab or an arrow key to move the focus to the Reference column cell.

  3. Type or paste the reference for the section.

  4. Press Tab or Enter.

  5. Click Save.

Add Passage button (hierarchical layout only)

  1. If there are existing sections and passages, click the section or passage that is nearest to where you want the new passage.

  2. Click Add Passage  and then click the option that describes where you want the new passage to appear. 

A new passage row appears below the last section.

  1. If the Audio Project Type was set to Scripture (PIC), do these steps:

  2. With the focus in the Reference column, type or paste the reference.

  3. Press Tab or Enter.

  4. Click Save.

Add a section or passage

  1. Click a row for a section or passage that is near to where you want the new section or passage.

  2. Click PIC (More) in the Extras column, and then click the option that that describes where you want the new section or passage to appear.

A section or passage is inserted according to the option you clicked. Some numbers are changed in an attempt to keep the sequence of sections or passages correct. Edit sections or passages as necessary.

  1. Click Save.

Copy sections and passages

You can copy one or more sections, with their associated passages, from one audio project to another if their type is the same.

Do these steps:

  1. For the sections and passages that you want to copy, manually select all the cells in the columns from Section to Description.

If you select and copy the wrong number of columns, you will be informed when you paste them. Spreadsheet convention as additional information about columns.

  1. Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + C to copy them to your clipboard.

  2. Go to the audio project where you will paste the sections and passages. Click Spreadsheet  and then click Paste Spreadsheet.

  1. Click Save.

Move a section or passage

  1. Click the row for a section or passage you want to move.

  2. Click  (More) in the Extras column, and then click the option that that describes where you want the new section or passage to appear.

That section or passage is moved according to the option you clicked. Some numbers are changed in an attempt to keep the sequence of sections or passages correct. Edit sections or passages as necessary.

  1. Click Save.
