In the Work view, you can have a step that uses the Consultant Check tool. In this case, a consultant can check and compare audio files and transcriptions. The consultant cannot change any audio or transcribed contents, but will use discussions to provide feedback if necessary.
The consultant might see any of these tabs or column headings: Whole Back Translate, Phrase Back Translation, Community Test Retell, Community Test Question and Answer and Vernacular.
Therefore the project would need have audio recordings (uploaded or recorded back translations, recorded retellings or questions and answers) to listen to.
Depending on the steps in the workflow, the project would need to have a vernacular transcription, and a phrase back translation transcription and possibly others.
In a step that uses the Consultant Check tool, make sure the correct section or passage is in view. If the project layout is hierarchical, click the passage that has the audio and transcriptions you want to check.
Optionally, click the Compare button to open the Select Items to Compare dialog box. Then, select () each item that you want to compare, and click Save.
Then you will see each item you selected in a column, instead of in a separate tab.
The Phrase Back Translation tab shows Version and Segments complete information. Then you can verify the version and that all the segments are complete.
Do these steps if you see the (Play) button and the transcription in a tab:
Click to play the audio file while you read the transcription.
When you have heard the audio and read the transcription, add a discussion or comment if necessary. Otherwise, click Mark Checked.
A darker background color appears on the tab you checked. The next tab becomes the current tab for you to check.
If you decide to check an audio file or transcription again, click the tab and then click Review More.
Do these steps if you see the (Play) buttons and transcriptions in columns:
For each column you see, click to play the audio file while you read the transcription.
When you have heard each the audio and read the transcriptions, add a discussion or comment if necessary. Otherwise, click Mark Checked.
A darker background color appears on column headings to indicate that you checked them.
If you decide to check an audio file or transcription again, click Review More and click the button in the column you want to review again.
Typically, the actual review should happen in Paratext.
You can add discussions and comments about that review in Audio Project Manager (APM).
See Edit the workflow and Work view overview if the project does not have all the expected content.
