There might be a time when you want to download an audio file to your computer. For example, the file is only online or on another computer, but not the one you are currently using.
You can download audio file from the places listed below, but also from the Versions dialog box.
The Export dialog box appears.
Click to expand the section that has the audio file you want to download.
Click the (Download Vernacular Audio) button that is in the row that has the file you want.
The file is saved to your Downloads folder.
In the Audio tab, the File Name column displays the names of audio files.
Click the Audio tab.
Move the scroll bar so you can see the buttons at the end of the rows.
Click the (Download Audio) button that is in the row that has the file you want.
You need to do this if you exported to ELAN, but you can download a vernacular audio file for other reasons.
In the Transcriptions tab, you need to know the section number and title. The transcription type chooser control does not affect this download.

In a step that uses the Export tool, click to expand to expand the section.
Click (Download Vernacular Audio).
If you recorded the audio in a Record step, then either an *.ogg (compressed) or *.wav (uncompressed) file is saved to your Downloads folder.
Record/Edit Audio has steps to select Compressed or Uncompressed when you save your recording or edits.
