Audacity

Audacity is multi-track audio editor and recorder. To use it, Audacity must be installed on your computer. See https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.

You cannot use Audacity with Audio Project Manager that runs in a browser.

No setup steps are needed to use Audacity with the Desktop app.

• In the Desktop app, open the Audacity Manager dialog box in one of these ways:

  • Sections & Passages tab: Click  (More) in the Extras column and then click  (Launch Audacity).

  • Work view: Click Launch Audacity in a step that uses a Record tool.

Note

• On devices with a Windows™ operating system, files used with Audacity stored in two folders in Documents/Audacity:

  • The aup3 folder set stores *.aup3 and related files.

  • The io folder set stores *.mp3 files.

• Currently Audacity will read *.ogg format files if you follow the steps in Audacity to install the ffmpeg plugin:
