Mark Verses

For projects with a  Scripture layout, this tool allows you to define and store timing information for each verse or a particular set of verses. If you do this step before a transcription step, you can transcribe them separately so that you can insert verse markings in the transcription. These verse marking are Start-->Stop times. In this way, it can be considered similar to the segmentation feature.

Edit the workflow to add the step and tool if your workflow does not have one.

In this case, (Next Segment) will insert a verse number when you transcribe if you transcribe after you mark verses.

Mark Verses

  1. Choose the passage or step that allows you to add verse markings.

  2. Play () the audio file:

  1. You can manually adjust the segment boundaries in any of these ways:

  1. If necessary, you can edit the contents in the Reference column.

  2. Click Save Verse Markup.

A warning message will appear and inform you if APM found syntax errors in the Reference column.

It will also warn you if the number of segments does not equal the number of verses. This might be what you wanted to do. You could continue and edit the Reference column to account for all the verses. For example, for Luke 15:3-7 you might want 15:3, 15:4, 15:5-6 and 15:7.

Tip

If there are any discussions that have the segment Start-->Stop times in the Topic box, you might want to edit those comments to update the times.
