Be careful: If you select a word and then add a timestamp, it will replace the word.
You can use 
(F2 Rewind 2 seconds) and 
(F3 Ahead 2 seconds) to get the timestamp to match the time shown near by the progress indicator.
You can add timestamps into transcription texts. The timestamp will match the time of playback shown in the progress indicator. Timestamps are not included with the text when you synchronize the text or export for use in ELAN.

Do one of these steps:
Play the audio file and when you want to add a timestamp, click 
(Timestamp) or press the keyboard shortcut F6 or Ctrl + 6.
If you are done transcribing or are reviewing an existing translation text, do these steps:
Double-click your mouse just before the word or phrase where you want the timestamp to appear. You should see the insertion point (focus) appear there.
Play the audio file again and press the shortcut key F6 to insert the timestamp there at the instance that you begin to hear that word or phrase.
Double-click your mouse after the word or phrase to put the insertion point there, and then when you hear that word or phrase end, press F6 again.
Two examples:
Transcribers can insert a timestamp on either side of a word or phrase that they suspect they may not have heard or transcribed correctly.
Then they can mention their timestamps in discussions when they submit the transcription for review.
Editors can insert timestamps to indicate the specific times that relate to their review comments.
You can copy (Ctrl + C) and paste (Ctrl + V) a timestamp to make sure it is at the correct place in the transcription text.
You can copy (Ctrl + C) and paste (Ctrl + V) timestamps into discussions or comments or to another location.
To delete a timestamp, select it and press Delete or backspace over it.
